Camps, Daycare and After School Groups

We offer in-person and virtual presentations that focus on developing empathy and compassion for wildlife. Programs are designed for BGC, guides, scouts, summer camps, and other groups for kids, with adaptations for pre-school/daycare participants.
Please note that patients from Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre will not be part of the program due to their high stress levels and need for a quiet space to heal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I pay in advance for a program?

Our administration staff are working hard to answer wildlife emergency calls and admit new patients every day. By paying in advance through our automated system, you are allowing our administrative staff to focus on getting wildlife in distress into our care.

Do I need a PayPal account to pay in advance?

No! When prompted by PayPal, you can check out as a 'guest' and simply use a credit card to pay.

What am I paying for?

You are paying for an educator's time to prepare and deliver the program. For in-person programs, the cost includes travel time. As a charity, these program fees are critical to continuing the education program.

How do I complete my booking after paying with credit card/PayPal?

After making the payment through the PayPal portal, you will be directed back to the booking page. You must click the 'Schedule Event' button at the bottom of the page to secure your presentation time.

What group leaders are saying

"Our students loved participating in the program and games that were offered. The following day, two students discovered a fly that couldn't fly on the playground. They urgently wanted me to contact Sandy Pines so that we could help the injured animal, wrap its wings so that it could heal and then be released back to the wild. Empathy was definitely conveyed!"

"Since our summer camp is based upon compassion, being kind to all species and taking care of the planet, a visit from Sandy Pines was a perfect addition! [SPWC] was wonderful at inspiring the kids to get involved with not only rescuing wildlife but also educating others about the troubles that wildlife face and how to help them. We can't wait for more visits in the future! Thank you Sandy Pines!"

"The Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre’s education program was interactive, instructive, and fun. Our girls have a better understanding of the dangers facing wildlife, how they can protect wildlife around their homes, and what to do if they encounter an injured animal."

"Sandy Pines provided us with an amazing workshop that helped the young kids we work with to better understand how to care for the wildlife in our community. The workshops were interactive and fun. I have never seen our kids so engaged in an activity and I know they learned a lot that they will take home them."

"The presentation was very engaging for our Girl Guide group! Lots of hands on activities and keep their attention for a full hour. The kids had lots of questions afterwards which showed how much they learned and engaged with the content. I highly recommend a visit from Sandy Pines!"

"The Guides thoroughly enjoyed the program with Sandy Pines! They were fully engaged throughout the activities and learned so much from Jess. I think they would have asked her questions for another hour if they could have! It was fantastic that she was able to personalize the program to fit our national service project focus. We will definitely have you back again in the future!"
Lisa, 2nd Meadowbrook Guides

"[Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre] visited our 4 full day programs which are run by the YMCA licensed child care over the March Break. All 4 programs loved the presentation with their favourite parts being when they got to go outside to explore and when they had to help the animals who were injured!"
